NCT I & II Bulb Replacement

NCT PM & Lamp Replacement

1. Remove the NCT Top Cover with the Large Allen Wrench Supplied

2. Locate the Lamp Block, located on the operator’s left of the head. It normally has the letter “B” stamped on it.

3. The lamp is located in the front of the Lamp Block. It has 2 wires coming out pointed directly at the operator.

4. Loosen (do not remove) the set screw holding the lamp socket in the block

5. Pull the bulb socket out of the block.

6. Unscrew the lamp retaining ring and push the lamp out of it.

7. Insert the new bulb into the retaining ring, and screw it back into the lamp socket. Do not tighten the set screw yet.

8. Turn the instrument on and lock it in high intensity, by locking the forehead switch button located on the top of the forehead rest. Pull the chrome button out and turn it counterclockwise to lock.

9. Slide the socket in and out of the mount. Observe how the light will sweep across the inside of the instrument. There is a triangular block at the front which the Rx wheel goes through. There is an opening in the front of this block. Slide the lamp socket in and out so the that maximum amount of light projects directly into the hole in the block.

10. Tighten the set screw and re-attach the cover.

11. Replace the 2 foam forehead pads by peeling the old ones off and replacing with the new ones provided.

12. Locate the objective. This is located at the front of the unit. It has the tube which the air comes out of embedded in a glass ring.

13. Dampen one end of the swab provided with some lens cleaner. Clean the glass ring of the objective. Use the other end to dry it. Do not touch the clear lenses on the tubes which are on either side of the objective. Never stick anything into the air tube of the objective.

14. Call (800) 835-6386 if you have any questions.
