POC Halogen Upgrade

Over the years there have been several attempts to offer Halogen Upgrades for Standard Projectors.

The first was the Mity Light System. This invoved plugging the projector into a 24V 50W transformer which plugged into the wall. A halogen lamp mouted into a base identical to the CAX was put into the existing lamp socket in the POC. This worked very well except, the excees heat generated by a halogen bulb caused the lamp socket to fail more frequently than the standard CAX bulb did. In fact, the Mity Light was not able to be used in the Marco POC which had a different designed socket that the AO and many other instruments. Another problem occured when the POC was plugged directly into the wall, instead of the transformer. This would immediately pop the halogen bulb. At over $25.00 per bulb, this was a costly mistake.

The next upgrade involved using a halogen bulb that could be handle at 120V power source. Again this worked well, until the heat caused the springs in the socket to loose tension and the POC would fail.

Today we are happy to offer a Halogen Upgrade that is economical and eliminates the problem of past attempts. We remove the socket and repalce it with a true halogen socket. We also get rid of the high price replacement bulb with a common, inexpensive halogen bulb.
